A Brief History of the Progress Association.
The Shoalhaven Heads Progress Association was first formed in 1964 as a community organisation looking after the interests of the Community as a whole. Early projects included the upgrading and sealing of Bolong Road to Nowra and the Sand Track, now renamed Gerroa Road to Gerroa and Gerringong through the Seven Mile Beach National Park.
Other projects undertaken include
- Flood Management
- Stabalisation of Sand Dunes:- between the Surf Club and the River Mouth
- Stabalisation of Sand Dunes at the Surf Club as the Club House was in danger of slipping into the sea.
- Main Street upgrades of sealing, kerb and guttering and drainage.
The Associations achievements have, in the main, been as a result of close and productive teamwork with Local residents and Councilors and staff of Shoalhaven City Council.
