The Neighbourhood Watch programme was first discussed at a Progress Association Meeting chaired by Allan Voysey on 21/8/85 and the inaugural meeting took place at the Bowling Club on 1/4/86, its first President being A. McKinnon.
The programme continued successfully until 1994 when it was suspended due to a lack of community support.
In 1995 it was revived due to the sterling efforts of Const. Paul Revitt, with Tracy Hose in office as President.
The following Presidents were --
- 1996 Doreen Elliott
- 1997 Phil Hammill
- 1998 Doreen Elliott
In 1999 things looked a little bleak for the scheme, and in an effort to keep the programme on track, Allan Voysey took the reins until he stood down for health reasons in 2001, handing over to Greg Montgomery who remained as President until the amalgamation and formation of the Forum in 2004.
