President's Report for A.G.M. 2010-2011

The Forum has been supported by good numbers attending each meeting which we all appreciate.
I thank Carolyn Shields for standing in as secretary last year until Carolyne Turner volunteered to take on the responsibilities of secretary in June; Carolyn is still assistant secretary. Thanks to Noel Schnider for guiding me through this year and to Judy Moat for looking after the finances. To Anne-Louise for writing a report in the Heads News Letter and South Coast Register. To John Dogterom for going through the paperwork from Council to report on building applications and other work.
On this subject I acknowledge Harry Meehan who passed away recently who served in this role for some years. We all thank Roger Tillie who won't let go of the need to have a workable evacuation plan for our town in a time of emergency.
Also thank you Helen King for looking after the attendance book and raffle tickets.
Thank you to Eric Bird for organising the Miracle Tour and with Roger Tillie for the on-going effort to rally interest in cheaper electricity.
We want to acknowledge the Bowling and Recreation Club for allowing us to use this area free of charge as a service to our town. Thank you to Leading Senior Constable Paul Nancekivell for reporting to us in person when he can and through the Heads News Letter.
I want to thank Councillor Gareth Ward who has attended the majority of the meetings keeping us up to date on Council matters and supporting the Forum and Shoalhaven Heads when we needed work done in our town.
We also appreciate the council staff, which have invested money and labour in our town.
As you see there are many people doing their small bit to achieve a great deal.

Guest speakers who have informed us over the year have been:

" November 2010 Avalynne Wilby from Council regarding Composting.
" February 2011 Wes Davis and Andy Hutchinson from the Surf Club.

" May 2011 Ian Borrowdale from Council on the subject of noxious weeds.
" August 2011 David Makin and Martin Kick from Fisheries.
" September 2011 Ian Henderson from the local school and Gordon Clark for talking to us.
