Police Report Const Ray Thomas and Const Darren MacKenzie were apologies for the meeting. Anne Louise O'Connor read out the incident report for the past month - May. A reminder from the police, never ever leave valuable property in your vehicle - move it or lose it.

Guest Attendees/Speakers John Wells - City Services Manager from Shoalhaven City Council addressed the meeting and thanked the residents for the community support they give to the area. John went on to explain the new structure of Shoalhaven City Council and the responsibilities he holds. John explained that the previous structure did not facilitate the level of planning the Shoalhaven needs. John spoke of the 490 staff and $100m of budget he controls and the successes he has guided in the past - eg the café at the memorial gardens and the Cambewarra lookout upgrade. John also mentioned that he was keen to have a police presence full time in the Heads over the Christmas holiday period. The forum members thanked John for his time and the information he conveyed.

Ian Todd the General Manager of Kingsrove RSL, which has 5500 members, then addressed the members and Ian outlined the Clubs holdings within the Shoalhaven Heads village. Ian said that the Club is keen to work in with the community as they have done in the past when planning issues have been discussed. The forum members thanked Ian for coming to the meeting and wished the Club success in the future.
Reports Trevor Aspin gave a report on building matters associated with the Community Center:
A new sign has been erected and a notice board at the front door to house information about the center. Council has fixed the two lights in the car park that were hit by vehicles and filled the potholes in the car park. A bike rack was installed but this was removed due to location and not being of use according to the Management Committee. The timber sign identifying the permanent hirers of the center is being brought up to date.

Report of the Shoalhaven Heads Chamber of Commerce and Tourism

Ken Merrifield advised that the Men's Shed extensions are now complete and this has doubled the size of the facility.
The Chamber is trying to secure funds to ensure a police presence over the holiday period.
The Bendigo Bank pledge time is now coming to a close, more support is needed the closing date is 30/6/2007.
Report of the Shoalhaven Heads Community and Progress Association.
Roger Tilley addressed the meeting and outlined a number of Council draft policies.
Roger noted that Heritage grant applications are due in.
There is also a new tree preservation order in the Shoalhaven Council area and Roger advised all to make themselves aware of the policy.
Roger also noted that Ken Merrifield has been confirmed on the Tourism Board for a further 2 year - congratulation Ken.
Ruth Cave reported on the bush care activities and mentioned that the assistance of SCC and the NPWS was very much appreciated. The shelter sheds are being well utilized. The Golf Club bushcare group meet on Wednesday 8-10 (the week the yellow bins are emptied) as does the Tuesday group who meet between 8-10.
General Business
1 Councillor Gareth Ward addressed the forum and spoke of:
o Huskisson and the building heights
o Gareth's notice of motion in regard to the Shoalhaven River Estuary Management Plan and the need to consult effectively with landowners.
o Gareth has also requested that more planning happen around the Nowra Bridge precinct.
o Gareth's notice of motion to have all Councillor pecuniary interests available on the web was defeated - not a good sign of open government.
o Also his motion was defeated to have security cameras within the Nowra CBD, however Council is to pursue this idea and also look at opening Junction Court.
2 Justin and Nicole, managers of the Council Caravan park were at the meeting and answered from questions from forum members on use of the park.
3 Philip advised that Max Flohr who was not at the meeting had discussions with Andy Turner who has a local computer business regarding a community website.
Philip advised that Matt Brown MP would be at the October meeting of the forum.
4 Moved by Ron Randall seconded John Dogterom that we write to Council regarding the ongoing condition of the drainage near Davenport street - carried unanimously.
5 It was moved Eric Arblaster and seconded Alan Weeks that we obtain a copy of the subdivision off Discovery Place so that forum members could view the proposed development. - Carried unanimously.
6 Raffle was won by Iris Meehan
