General Business
1 Survey re sale of Council land
Philip spoke firstly outlining how and where this saga began. Philip also advised of the meeting held today with John Gould of Shoalhaven City Council and advised how the permanent tenants of caravan parks would be included in the process i.e. if they wished to complete a survey, phone the Council and one would be forwarded out.

Philip also advised of the collation process designed by Roger Tilley and approved by John Gould (and forum committee). He then called for 2 scrutineers to join Roger Tilley -- Ron Traynor and Dennis McDermott volunteered.

Many questions raised -- whether it was a survey or vote. Ron Traynor said Council had advised him that they were treating it as a survey.
Could Council still negate the sale even if people voted for the sale? Reply was probably yes. What guarantee do we have that money raised on any sale will be used in Shoalhaven Heads?

Ron Traynor then spoke re the meeting held on Sun. 2/12/07. He advised that he had a particular interest in the matter as he lives adjacent to land in the proposal -- Celia Place. He advised that he had been requested to chair Sunday's meeting admitting it was held in very short notice. He said that he had suggested to people that they place the surveys in an envelope with the survey no. on the front of such envelope. He had also encouraged people to complete the last section of the survey e.g. with ideas of what to do with any proceeds (if any).

Teena Bronzino of Jerry Bailey Pre-School said that the pre-school was lobbying parents to propose an out of hours child care centre be provided with the funds.
Ron also said the matter of security was raised -- he has now listened to the proposal of Roger Tilley's and has agreed to be a scrutineer and collate the results.

Minutes of Sunday's meeting were tabled. Ron précised these Minutes to the Forum meeting. 2 Carolyn Shields moved a motion that the Minutes of Forum meetings be printed in The Heads News. Seconded by Bev. Walker. Carolyn said that many people could not attend the Forum because of family/work commitments.
Anne-Louise spoke to the motion saying that she reports very fairly on matters in The Heads, in a non-political and unbiased manner. She could not see her way to print the whole Minutes in January's edition that was always very large.
Much discussion then took place with the suggestion raised that copies of the Minutes distributed to the community. Eric Bird said who would pay for this as it would be a costly exercise.
There was much dissent over this matter.
Carolyn then amended her motion thus -- calling for liaison with Secretary of the Forum (R.Flack) re having 3 or 4 copies of the Minutes distributed around the village or displayed in the Community centre's noticeboard.

3 Geoff James presented The Forum with a cheque for $1049.42 from the Heads Youth Park committee. This project is now complete and these funds are surplus. The request is that it be spent on any project that will benefit the youth in Shoalhaven Heads. (Letter attached). Thank you letter to be sent to the Committee.

4 Clean up Australia Day - 2/3/08
Do we need it ---YES if so who would like to co-ordinate it. - There was an explanation of the duties given.
Ruth Cave advised that the Bushcare Group would be doing their cleanup on 26th February.
5 Guest Speaker - Rex Worrell - Birds at Shoalhaven Heads
Rex Worrell gave an excellent talk on the many varieties of birds visiting the area, eg Pied Oyster Catcher that has nested and hatched, thanks to a dog proof fence. Two helpers are assisting in the bird count. Birds are from Siberia and Alaska and many other areas flying eleven thousand kilometres non stop to get here. Pat Hall of NPWS frequently brings groups to the area to view the area, this is proving good for local businesses.
Philip moved a vote of thanks to Rex for the presentation.
6 Teena Bronzino was the winner of the raffle
7 Meeting Closed at 08:45pm Next Meeting 6th February 2008 - Michael Strachan from SCC will present on floating boat ramps.
