Shoalhaven Heads Community Centre Report -
Trevor Aspin advised that the electric blind is to be replaced - finally.
Trevor reminded all that they should visit the Centre on 21st August to vote in the Federal Election.
Curtis Park Arboretum - Roger Tilley
We received two loads of mulch during the month; this was used to re-mulch several of the gardens.
We have had no word about the CDSE funding that we applied for so it would appear that we have missed out. This means that the under-storey planting will be delayed and we will miss the start of the new growing season.
We have other applications ongoing for funding but we do not expect these to result in any thing until next year.
A temporary sign for the Arboretum has been erected and an information box installed with leaflets explaining the history of the Arboretum and giving an outline of future projects.
We have also applied for a grant for the sign to be attached to the rock and for the plant identification system that we will be using and for the printing of some information leaflets.
Due to the sheltered location of the Arboretum we did not suffer any damage from the recent storm which is a great relief.
There has been a holdup with the CAD drawings required to put in the DA for the storage shed so that project is on hold for the time being.
The intended bird information sign is also on hold as we have not received replies to letters written for use of photographs that may be covered by copyright.
At the moment our motto is "hasten slowly".
Moved: Noel Schneider Seconded: Terry Lillie that all reports be accepted - carried unanimously
