Shoalhaven Heads Community Forum – Minutes 2nd September 2009
Greg on people they thought were on the committee of the tennis courts and to
contact Council.
Moved R Flack seconded Terry Lillie that a volunteer committee be formed
under the forum to assist Council with the running of the pool if the trial
extended opening period goes ahead. The following people nominated for the
committee – Robyn Flack, Terry Lillie, John Dogterom and David Patton
Discussion then took place on the litter which is left lying around the Skate
Park. It is hoped that the young people of the village take more pride in the area
and pick up the litter. The forum would like to hear from the younger member
of the community on how this are can be maintained to a better standard to
demonstrate the gratitude to the people and organisations who donated time and
money to have the facility built.
Items for the Northern Area CCB meeting to be held at Council on 01 October
are:
·Maintenance of Coolangatta and Bolong Roads
·Swimming Pool and duck problems
·Skate Park litter
Noel will be available to attend the meeting however Robyn Flack will be away
on that day.
Discussion then took place on the meeting venue. Funds of the forum have
dwindled since the per person charge has been imposed by the Sports and Social
Club. Suggestions of the best place to meet included:
The Sports and Social club is a convenient venue with good facilities, parking
and availability
The Community Centre would be less costly but relies on someone to set up the
and pack a way the chairs.
The Golf Club house may be an option – to be further considered.
·Moved by Bob King and seconded Lorraine Montgomery that we write to the
Sports and Social Club and advise that our funds will not permit the continued
use of the facility under the current charging arrangements. Carried
unanimously.
