" Over 3000 submissions made re LEP
" People are still able to contact councillors re the LEP
" Holiday Haven Caravan Park is installing more cabins. The forum is encouraged to be proactive in developments concerning the Holiday haven caravan park.

" Congratulations to Andrew Guile on his election to deputy mayor
" Outlined his recent trip to China, where he contacted a serious infection which necessitated a stay in hospital over a couple of days.
" The state budget was generous to the Shoalhaven:
o $10million towards the Cancer Centre
o 117 additional car spaces at Shoalhaven Hospital
o 82 extra nurses to be employed
o Half a billion dollars to be spent on roads. Fulton Hogan has been awarded the 1st stage of the Gerringong- Berry road construction.
" New laws passed in NSW include:
o That any individual may be moved on now for drunk and disorderly behaviour
o Police have the right to ask you to uncover your face.
" The enquiry in to the electricity sell off has revealed that the previous state government sold it at half of its estimated value.
" EPA act is being reviewed and rewritten.
" Electoral Commission is planning to abolish all corporate and union donations to state political parties.
" Gareth is now the assistant speaker to Shelley Hancock in the NSW parliament.
" Open invitation to any interested people to come to a parliamentary session. Gareth will also organise a tour of parliament for interested people.
" SCC has just hosted a very successful Local government Conference
" Water fees and charges have been lowered for new small businesses in the Shoalhaven.
" Gareth took questions on:
o Railway timetables, availability of ramp at Kiama station
o Road widening at South Nowra
o Environmental waste levy on landfill
o Fire service & SES levy on insurance renewals
o Landscaping at Manildra following recent expansion projects
o NSW share of GST - how is it regulated?
" Gareth made note of Polio sufferers still being the single largest group of disabled people in older aged groups and is involved in supporting the polio charity.

Business Arising 1. API site - no correspondence received from SCC in reply to our previous letter. The meeting expressed further concern about the continued deteriotion of the site and the possible danger to people it they come into contact with the broken sheets of asbestos.
Motion was moved: "that the forum write to the owners of the site API to inform them of the condition of the site including a fence now damaged following a car accident, that people are still able to gain access to the site, and with the upcoming summer season that the likelihood of someone injuring themselves will be significantly higher. The forum requests that API undertake to immediately demolish the fibro cottages."

" Chamber of Commerce At the AGM the following were elected:
President Ken Merrifield, Vice president John Greenaway,
Treasurer Karen Hansen, Secretary & Chamber delegate Anne-Louise O'Connor
" Bush Care The Golfers Group have completed clearing of lantana etc. on the original 15 holes & have now started work on the new vegetation management plan. Shoalhaven Heads Group is working in the wetland north of Holiday Haven. River Rd Group are tending their plantings & replacing vandalised seedlings on the river bank. Members have attended a plant recognition course at Berry & a reptile awareness course at Bomaderry in October. " Golf Club Terry Lillie reported that all new plumbing for the additional 3 holes has been finished and Turfco will commence the grass planting within the next 2 weeks.
More fertiliser will be spread after that, some smell may be experienced following this.
Special thanks were given to John Greenaway for the amount of time he has spent doing the preparation work for the new holes.
" Arboretum Roger Tilley reported that rocks have been delivered to put in the dry grasses area. The deco granite path is still to be spread. Mulch has been spread. Over 20 sponsorships have been received from businesses and individuals. .

General Business 1. The removal of trees from inside the pool area was discussed. The lack of sun shelter and seating in the enclosure was raised and it was decided to write a letter to SCC asking for additional sun shelter and seating. Moved: Jan Derble Sec: Terry Lillie Motion Carried
2. Exercise equipment has been installed at the beach end of River road by SCC.
3. Shoalhaven Heads Rd has had repair work done on it recently.
4. The mowing schedule by SCC in Shoalhaven Heads has been changed and is not being done as frequently as in the past.
5. John Dogterom will represent the forum at the Remembrance Day ceremony.
6. Carolyne Turner attended a meeting held by the Dept of planning & Infrastructure. This concerned proposals by the NSW government to axe the Environmental Planning & assessment Act 1979.
Gareth Ward indicated that the Act is being reviewed, and a discussion paper will be delivered in December re this.
