Neighbourhood Watch
Police Report Constable Ray Thomas attended in company with A/Inspection Sue Charman-Horton. Const Thomas spoke of the increased incidents in the town while has been away on leave. He gave the actual statistics to Anne-Louise O'Connor for publication in the Heads News. He again encouraged residents to telephone the police and report incidents.
Following the departure of the police officers the following motion was put.
Moved Greg Montgomery seconded Roger Tilley that a letter be sent to Commander Kiel Stewart to support the return of the second officer for the Berry/Shoalhaven Heads area, especially with regard to upcoming school holidays and summer break - Carried unanimously

Guest Attendees/Speakers Mr Russ Pigg and Mr John Gould - Shoalhaven City Council addressed the meeting and outlined a proposal to seek the community's interest in selling off certain public lands within Shoalhaven Heads to provide community facilities.
It was decided to further discuss this matter in general business following the departure of the Council presenters.

Report of the Shoalhaven Heads Chamber of Commerce and Tourism
Anne-Louise O'Connor advised the Bendigo Bank meeting would be held on 6th August at 7pm at the Bowling club. The Shoalhaven Heads brochure has been reprinted and goes out with all c/park bookings.

Philip advised he had spoken with John Colbran - Jerrinja have with Govt. people. Agreement is that unless Land Council functions according to the guidelines it will be wound up.
Roger Tilley advised on Council business papers Council are considering if they should make rainwater tanks mandatory or new development. Roger also noted the Mount Coolangatta Vegetation plan; vandalism of the toilet block near the beach, and new rates $359.50 base plus ad-valorem.
Bush care report
Noel Schneider advised the group has been working at the school, 25 bags of asparagus fern was filled. Natives have now been planted. They have also encountered many "Mother of Millions" plants and another weed Leonotus. The golf club group are working on eradicating lantana and planting dividers between the holes.
General Business
1 Greg Montgomery advised that he attended a Myna Bird meeting on 26th July. 26 people were in attendance. Shoalhaven is a study area. University representative noted the damage the birds due to property and how they prevent the native birds from returning to the habitat. Hollow logs take up to 150 years to form and when desiccated by the myna bird become a sterile area. Greg said he set up a trap that proved to be ineffective.
2 Roger Tilley gave a presentation on Celia Place - Curtis Reserve. Roger has been planted rain forest varieties of trees in the grassed area of the park. Roger was seeking forum support to formalise the planting approval from Council.
Moved Robyn Flack, Seconded Harry Meehan that the forum support is given to Roger providing the support of adjoining residents is forthcoming. - Carried unanimously.
3 Moved John Dogterom seconded Cec Knight that we write to Council to support a walk to the top of Coolangatta Mountain - Carried unanimously.
4 Moved John Dogterom seconded Peter Moate that the cost of $55 to set up the forum website be approved - carried unanimously.
5 Moved Trevor Aspin seconded Lydon Reay that the forum agree in principle to the proposal put forward by Council to further investigate the disposal of land and for the proceeds to be used for community projects to be agreed upon. - Carried unanimously
Following further discussion the following people were nominated and endorsed as a sub committee to progress this with Council.
Trevor Aspin, Lyndon Reay, Nicholas Liall, Robyn Flack and Lorraine Montgomery.
6 Meeting closed 9:15pm. Next meeting 05th September 2007 - when Avalon Wilbey from SCC Waste minimisation will be a guest speaker. Also the September meeting is the AGM.
